If you didn’t know better, you might think the Chris Robinson Brotherhood is a Grateful Dead tribute band with the amount of touring they do and number of both studio albums and live releases that come out every year. So it makes sense that, while already feeling the jammy vibe, CRB guitarist Neal Casal and keyboardist Adam MacDougall have put together an instrumental side project, along with bassist Dan Horne and drummer Mark Levy, playing music heavily inspired by the Dead.

While working on the 2018 release, Let it Wander, Public Enemy’s Chuck D stopped by the studio and praised Circles Around the Sun which led them to asking the influential rapper to record an intro for the appropriately titled, “One for Chuck D”.

It’s going to be a sweet and groovy treat to have this talent on stage at Woodlands Tavern on Tuesday night. Former Band of Horses guitarist Tyler Ramsey – who played at Rumba Cafe earlier this year – opens the show. Doors at 7, cover is $15.
