I still don’t understand why it’s so hard to find a concert schedule for Carabar, but, hey, Thrill Jockey’s publicist is on top of things and let us  know about a couple of back-to-back shows hitting the east side club.

Thursday night, Circuit des Yeux performs with Mosses (featuring Ryan Jewell, Eve Lenker, Troy Kunkler), SW Hedrick (Skeletonwitch guitarist) and Dioses Serpientes Enroscados. For the uninitiated, such as myself prior to last week, Circuit des Yeux’s music may be a bit shocking on first listen, particularly Haley Fohr’s impassioned vocals which register in a deep tone. But there’s something utterly enthralling as the band loses itself in the orchestral groove.

Check out this Chirp Factory session and while you’re doing so, read an interview Kevin Elliott did with Fohr for Agit Reader. You’ll learn that Fohr has some Columbus connections.

Friday night, Holy Sons (Emil Amos of Grails and OM) performs, having just finished up a string of dates with Earth. I can’t find any info on whether or not there are other bands on the bill though you’d have to assume there will be. Holy Sons is touring in support of it’s recently-released Fall of Man, the intimately dark follow up to 2014’s The Fact Facer. My kid interviewed Emil last year prior to a show at Double Happiness.
