Benjamin Cartel, one half of the band Kaiser Cartel (we’ll let you guess which half), is doing a quick, end-of-year tour to promote his forthcoming album, Flickering Lights and will take the Used Kids stage around 6pm on Wednesday to perform a FREE show.

Expect to hear some delectable pop tunes that bare a strong ’70s AM radio influence. In a review posted on the No Depression website, Cartel’s Flickering Lights earns comparisons to ELO and Alan Parsons and while I haven’t heard anything other than the stunning single “Down Now”, I’d venture to say Cartel is in the same league as the vastly underrated singer/songwriter Mike Viola.
