The Nelsonville Music Festival was back in 2022. The festival was not only back, but better than ever in the new Snow Fork Event Center. The new location was the perfect setting for this festival. The grounds held four stages. The main Snow Fork Stage, The Porch Stage, The Pond Stage, and last but not least the Creekside Stage which was at the end of a beautiful path and nestled in nature. The Stuart’s Opera House staff and the many volunteers did an amazing job of putting this space together.

I was only at the festival on Saturday, but I left wishing i could have stayed an extra day because it was so well done. Saturday’s rain did not put a damper on the fans as the hiked through the woods to land at their favorite stage.

The festival featured a fantastic line up that included everything from the iconic Michael Hurley (a Nelsonville regular) to Mdou Moctar’s killer guitars. One of my favorite moments of the night was when Yo La Tengo invited Michael Hurley on stage to sit in with the band. That was quite the moment and one I will go in my rock concert memory bank for years to come.

I was fortunate to be able to attend this event and took a few photos for you to enjoy. I look forward to Nelsonville Music Fest 2023!!
