A couple of options for your Friday night music pleasure.

Sylvan Esso bring their electronica-tinged trip-pop to the Newport Music Hall with Flock of Dimes handling opening duties. The show was original scheduled for the A&R Music Bar but moved to the more spacious Newport due to ticket sales exceeding expectations.

For something that packs a lot more punch, head down the street to Skully’s for some hardcore metal action from Pittsburgh’s Code Orange. I don’t know why, but for some reason I thought Code Orange was a ska band so was pleasantly surprised to hear these brutal guitar riffs in a video that is part snuff film, part Children of the Corn. Harms Way, Eternal SleepThe Black Antler and Unit 371 open the show. Doors are EARLY for this one (6pm) and the show will be over by 9:45! (See set times here).
